Israel Protesters condemn NZ stance on Israeli settlements


Two busloads of dissenters from Hawke's Bay have touched base at Parliament to stand firm against New Zealand's position on Israel's settlements.


Individuals from the gathering are conveying the Israeli banner and signs saying "Israel is a genuine majority rules system in the Middle East" and "UN determination 2334 denounced".

The United Nations Security Council on Christmas Eve received Resolution 2334, which requested that "Israel promptly and totally stop all settlement exercises in the involved Palestinian domain, including East Jerusalem".
The dissenters held signs state "Israel please pardon us" and "Disgrace on the remote service".

One solitary hostile to dissenter in the midst of the ocean of Israeli banners and T-shirts conveyed a Palestinian banner, debating with others.

New Zealand co-supported the UN determination, with Senegal and Malaysia, which said the settlements abused global law and undermined a two-state arrangement in Israel's contention with Palestine.
